Baseball/Softball coach since 2007.

Teaching all levels of Physical Education/Health since 2007.

Coach Jeff Sprenger has loved and played baseball since he was 5 years old, starting with T-ball and continuing into AAU baseball, as well as American Legion baseball. Sprenger starred at Providence High School where he earned All-Conference and All-State honors.  In college, he majored in Physical Education and began coaching baseball immediately upon graduating.

Coach Sprenger is currently entering his third year as the Head Softball Coach at Ardrey Kell High School. In his prior two years at the helm, the softball program has produced two NCAA Division 1 softball players while also earning a top 50 ranking nationally for team grade point average (GPA).

Under Sprenger’s leadership as the softball coach, the program has accumulated a 32-15 record and 2 NCHSAA state playoffs appearances.

Many Ardrey Kell players have won prestigious honors under Coach Sprenger and his staff: 

  • 8 SoMeck 7 All-Conference players
  • 6 All-District players
  • 1 District Player of the Year
  • 3 All-State Players. 

In addition to his coaching duties at Ardrey Kell, Sprenger is the Region 4 Head Softball Coach for the PowerAde State Games as well as the district 6 representative for the NC Softball Coaches Association. 

Prior to his appointment at Ardrey Kell, Sprenger had coaching stops at Myers Park High School and Richlands High School.  At Myers Park, Sprenger worked with the team’s outfielders and at Richlands, Sprenger worked as an assistant football, basketball, and baseball coach for 5 years before being named the Head Baseball Coach in 2012.  In his lone season, Sprenger guided the team to its only winning record since 2004!  

Sprenger and his beautiful wife, Kathy, have three wonderful sons, Evan, Alex, and Aiden.
